Being in Texas, our state is receiving a large brunt of the refugees, immigrants, displaced, etc. in a large exodus from Louisiana, now known on these pages as "Louggies." I welcome them here with a heavy heart and hope and prayers for their future. Just remember that Californians of the 30s similarly welcomed the "Okies" with one outstretched hand, while the other hand was holding a shotgun.
